SadThere is no updates on races run or schedules just wondering if everybody is losing interest? I know everyone has a busy life but this is for a good cause.

I don't think so, I know that a lot of folks are active on different boards. I find snippets about Betty on greytalk, and probably a lot more on global greyhounds. If I had broadband I would post updates, but alas I am stuck with dialup.

There was a post on greytalk asking about Betty after the bump, and I came here looking for some info. The site seemed to be having technical difficulties at the time, at least I wasn't able to get to the forum.

Some of this is my fault.....I have been extremely busy lately at work (12 hour shifts, and filling in for vacationing co-workers).....and have been having quite a bit more-than-normal correspondence with breeders, as well........I usually try and update this site and GT with Betty info....but there was no posting on Bettys next to last race on GG either.....Larry is putting together a new kennel as ST Pete, so he is real busy too.....I also don't have broadband, and am on a phone hookup----so I can't see the races from Wheeling anyway....we need an official "Wheeling Correspondent" who can act as Betty's press Secretary (one who has broadband, and hopefully lives near the track).....any volunteers??....at any rate...Martin just sent a check for 2K to SEGA and PWP, from Larry .....so that's good news.

Betty should draw into a race within the next 2 days.....she should be on a grade drop to grade B....hopefully she can return to her winning ways....Larry mentioned that the rail is heavy these days at Wheeling-----and that won't tend to help her.....so perhaps the grade drop will. Keep fingers crossed!!

I hope not!!

We need to get more consortium members over to this forum though to talk about Betty, and hopefully that will spark more interest. We can try to keep the 'chat' here on the forum up to date with Betty's races, at least that would be something.

The few of us who come here regularly might just have to talk amongst ourselves for a bit though Grin

WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Its tough to compete with established and popular meeeting places like GG and GT, Angela.....what we need, is another greyhound racing for adoption.....all we have to do is figure out how?....any ideas?

BTW, if I'm figuring correctly, Racforadoption is nearing the 30K mark in revenue raised for our 2 groups!

That's amazing - a running tally so consortium members can see what's being achieved would be nice!

I'm another dial-up user Sad I used to get the audio from Wheeling without video, but I can't even get that anymore.

Additionally, Larry has been busier than a one-armed paper hanger setting up a kennel at their new booking at Derby Lane. He's been pretty much absent, even on Global Greyhounds where he's a regular.

September is a big month for all of us who volunteer with adoption. Trying to get in as many meet-n-greets and festivals as possible before fall sets in. So, unfortunately I haven't been able to get here as much as I would like to keep up and cheer our girl on. But she is always in my thoughts and my heart is cheering her on where ever I am.

I think you're right Rock. It would be greyt to get another pup running for adoption (or maybe a half a dozen or so pups, I'm a bit of an optimist). I'm volunteering with a new group in MI that's working it's butt off to keep going and grow a little at the same time. We're only a year and fifteen months old, but we've managed to place 43 retirees in that short time. It's been a constant work to keep enough greenbacks coming in to keep the ball rolling.

Wish I had broadband too. Guess there's quite a few of us still stuck in the technical dark ages. LOL

I'm interested in how the pups are doing. Just don't always have a chance to stop by and chat. Sad

It might be nice if the members were sent an e-mail now and then letting us know how Betty is doing and telling us about any other news.

Hi cimorene - welcome to the RFA forum.

I'm going to try to keep the forum here up to date with Betty's adventures, so do stop by for the latest news, no obligation to chat!

Unfortunately the bad news this weekend is that Wheeling is badly flooded and there won't be racing for a while. That means no races for our Betty Sad.

Maybe we could start a e-mailing list to send race notifications out so everyone is up to date. I'm sure there are some of you who are, uh, unlike some of us who live on GreyTalk and Global. Roll Eyes
