We are in St. Petersburg. John was able to work it out that we went back to the kennel with him on Friday night and were able to meet Indie, in "person", for the first time. No cameras were allowed, so no pictures, but what a doll baby she is! She was roaching in the turn out pen for tummy tickles Smile

She is racing tomorrow, and we will get to see her before we head back to Orlando to fly home. Our experience was fabulous and I am so very glad she is in John's capable hands. She looks fit and well, and quite obviously likes him Smile

Becki,

Nice story. I thought you had met her before. Does she know you are her mommy?

Good deal. It's great that you got to spend some time with your girl.

I'm hoping to get down to St. Pete this summer to see my boy Red Coat run. He shipped over from Orange Park.

Indie and I had a little chat about mommies and girls and how they need to stand together when the entire household is dominated (by sheer numbers) of boys. She seemed to understand, or maybe she just liked getting her chin petted. It is hard to say, but she was nodding away as I was talking, so hopefully she'll remember what I said when she comes home Wink

I have to say, I never expected to see her roaching in the turnout pen with a bunch of strangers around her. I think she has the potential to be an awesome ambassadog for adoption. Our Axel will roach on the cold floor of Petsmart if he thinks it will get his belly rubbed by someone, anyone Smile It looks like Indie might have the same philosophy.

We are hoping to make a run down to OK to meet our other pup on the farm this summer, but everything has always been handled by pictures via the internet until now.

We were also able to see her race yesterday. She had a fourth place finish, but the second, third and fourth place dogs were all pictured in a photo finish tie breaker shot. Their little noses like they were a grand total of an inch apart.
