Talk about the dogs is probably not the proper spot to post this, but was not sure where else.

Congratulations to Simon and Angela on the birth of their daughter.

We were relieved and happy to hear that Simon and Angela's blessed event had finally come to pass. And what a gorgeous little girl.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

It is hard to believe she is a week old. We have been through so much already. She had to spend 48 hours in the Special Care Nursery at the hospital as her lungs didn't transition well during delivery and she couldn't absorb enough oxygen. I didn't really tell anyone about that as we didn't want people to worry.

After such a beautiful, peaceful and amazing birth it was pretty hard to have her whisked away from me. I only got to hold her for a minute while we took a couple of photos. She is a big healthy baby though, and was only on the oxygen for 24 hours. We got sent home together on Friday and have made up for lost bonding time, and also managed to get feeding down to a fine art already despite a difficult start due to our separation. We both learn a bit more together each day, and I even got 5 hours sleep last night! LOL Hoping for the same at least tonight!

She also saw her first greyhound race on the internet at the weekend - and I had a winner! We might watch some of Night of Stars together this Saturday, although I expect Lydia will just eat and sleep her way through it.

Angela,

Good to see you back and glad to hear the baby is well.

Thanks for moving this thread. Once I realized I put it in the wrong area I was afraid to move it. You work so hard on maintaining the site I did not want to chance messing it up.

How are the baby's brothers and sister reacting to their new sibling?

Bob
