......FLOODING!

We got put on flood alert by the police the other day. We're actually on an island at one of the first points of flooding for the Sudbury River. The road is already shut off at one end where the lake is now over the road, and now we're watching the river rise.
With all the rain due this weekend, and the thawing snow upstream we're told its only a matter of time.

Luckily noone's homes will be in danger. If we want to go anywhere though we will be advised to move our cars over to a parking lot on the 'mainland' very soon. Then the National Guard comes in and provides us with a shuttle service across the river!

I got all our heavy supplies in yesterday (like kibble for the hounds Wink), so we're all prepared. The upside is we have no traffic cutting through anymore so its really peaceful, and nice for dog-walking (once it stops raining!) LOL

Stay safe. Have they started sand bagging yet?

We got lucky - Sunday's rainfall wasn't as much as they predicted. Another inch would have done it.

As it is, we are cut off one end, and the other has water gently lapping across the road Crying. Not deep enough to tell us to move our cars yet, but another rainfall and I think that will be it.

I'm keeping a very close eye on the weather LOL
